Torchy, I saw you signed up months ago, and we were all waiting with anticipation of what you would be building.
Who doesn't love the Apache Longbow? Excellent. (Okay, it doesn't look excellent yet, but the potential is real!)
thanks!
-Sean.

Looks good to me, Adam. Slow but steady progress is still progress! I see you did quite a bit of modifying-- closing up the upper turrets and some big patching on the side. Nice.
thanks for posting!
-Sean.
No mods actually, that's all part of the kit itself since it can build the PB4Y-2 or the RY-3. You get two side inserts at the gunners positions and covers for both top turrets along with two different nose/tail options. It does make for a LOT of filling though to get the inserts blended in.

Seems like helicopters are big on the Hanger Queens list. This is Fujimi's 1/72 Westland Sea King 'Flying Tigers'. Built OOB and started many years ago.
I think that may be all the Hanger Queens gone from here at the moment, well all those I can actually finish. There is a TB-3 that I do not think will ever get finished..

I have finished. This was a great idea for a campaign. This P-40 was sitting partially completed for a couple of years.

First coat of primer is on the RY-3

And the verdict is? More filling needed.

Warren and Tom,
Commendable work, but don't forget the last step: post it in the gallery!
You can find it in Kitmaker>Galleries>Aeroscale>Aeroscale campaigns>2010 campaigns>Hangar Queen, or just click here.
Thanks again!

Another bump to alert anyone else who may have a half-built aircraft in their pile, craving attention and a final place in the display case, that THIS CAMPAIGN IS FOR YOU!
...or to alert anyone who signed up but hasn't begun yet! Oh, wait, that's me too.
...and another reminder to Mike and Warren to post final gallery photos. Matt's Commando is all alone there.
My current build is nearing completion, then I PROMISE, I'll get to my Sea Guard for this campaign and do her the honor of finishing.
About 5 1/2 months left!
thanks,
Sean.

Moving along, slowly, got the decals on the SBD. Trying to get the antenna rigged, no joy last night. Starting to decal the A4D-1, good luck with old decals, but issues with waterspots.

Hello all,
have not been active on this forum for a while, or on the bench. It's been summer down under so modelling tends to take a hit for outdoor pursuits. But it is starting to get cold, so I will have another crack at this:
A very old Hasegawa kit I tried to finish for the Big Beautiful Bombers campaign. I would like to finish one campaign one day!
Cheers

Good to hear from you, Jeremy. Welcome back!
Let's get that bomber flying!
Forgive my ignorance-- is that a Betty? (Queen Betty now )

Warren, congratulations! Good to see a second complete entry in the gallery-- and a fine one at that. Only 4 short months left in this one!
I see around the forums that grayghost666 is back on the mend! That's good to see too. I hope I've been taking good care of this campaign.
I myself finally put my hangar queen squarely in the center of my workspace-- then proceeded to work on some little stuff around it instead. It's progress anyway. I'm figuring out my next steps in my head. She'll be flying soon!
thanks,
Sean.

Did you hear the story about the idiot how went and finished his hanger queen and posted pics in the forum but hadn't actually signed up for the campaign...

@ Warren: LOL guess it's never too late to sign up.........
Both of my queens are sooooo close. Decaled, oversprayed, canopy covering removed. Just have to set up stands (they're both gear up) and then I'm claiming victory (and learing how to post in the gallery all over again...)

Take care,
